The Czech Green Building Council together with World GBC and the alliance Chance for Buildings prepared the position document with arguments and recommendations that accelerate the solution for climatic changes problems. Proposed recommendations should have a positive economic effect.
A great opportunity is the upcoming new directive on the energy performance of buildings, the implementation of which must bring ambitious but realistic requirements at national level. This includes definitions of zero-energy buildings or minimum energy performance standards that can provide an efficient way to reduce energy consumption by increasing the energy efficiency of buildings. This will reduce the risk of the ongoing crisis in the supply and price of energy exacerbated by the war in Ukraine.
The position document including the request for meetings was sent to the Minister for Trade and Industry Jozef Síkela, Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš, Minister for Environment Anna Hubáčková and to the permanent representatives in EU. Meetings with ministries are taking place with discussions on cooperation on implementing the recommended action.
